Q: What are "themes"?

A: Themes help us organise our large collection of statistical information, and enable you to access them in two ways:

• The data held for individual administrative units is also organized into themes, including graphs of changing rates which compare each unit with the national average. These pages also contain links to datasets (nCubes) which hold the actual statistics for the unit, presenting them in both chart and table format.
• Under "Statistics by Topic" on the Data Access page you can see the way we group our data together through the ten themes. This shows you how we organise the statistical data through the labels.
