Dargavel, an estate, with a mansion, in Erskine parish, Renfrewshire. The mansion, 1 mile SSW of Bishopton station, was built partly in 1574, partly at a recent period; and is in the French style of Queen Mary's reign; its owner, William Hall-Maxwell, Esq. (b. 1847; suc. 1866), holds 803 acres in the shire, valued at £1621 per annum.
