Maberry, Loch, a lake on the mutual border of Colmonell parish, Ayrshire, and Penninghame and Kirkcowan parishes, Wigtownshire, 5¾ miles SSE of Barrhill station. Lying 405 feet above sea-level, it extends 1 ¼ mile south-south-eastward; has a maximum width of 3 furlongs; is gemmed by eight little islets, one of them with vestiges of a castle; contains large pike and trout; and sends off the Bladenoch to Wigtown Bay.Ord.
