Spottes, a mansion in Urr parish, Kirkcudbrightshire, near the left bank of Urr Water, 4 miles NNW of Dalbeattie. Its owner, Alexander Young-Herries, Esq. (b. 1827; suc. 1872), holds 987 acres in the shire, valued at £920 per annum.—Ord. Sur., sh. 5, 1857.
