Ystradvelltey, par. and vil., Brecknockshire, on river Mellte, 11 miles NW. of Merthyr Tydfil, 19,025 ac., pop. 587; has brick and fire-clay works; the Mellte here runs underground through the cavern of Cwm Forth or Porth-yr-Ogof, ½ mile long.
