Calder, East, ancient par. and vil., W. Edinburghshire, near the right bank of the Almond, 1½ mile W. of Mid Calder sta. and 11 miles SW. of Edinburgh -- pop. of vil., 734. The par. was united in 1750 to the par. of Kirknewton. SEE KIRKNEWTON AND CALDER.
