Clifford.-- par. and vil., W. border of Herefordshire, on river Wye, 2¼ miles NE. of Hay, 6522 ac., pop. 792; P.O. Clifford Castle, 2 miles NE. of the vil., a beautiful ruin, on an eminence overlooking the river, was the birthplace of Fair Rosamond Clifford.
