Magilligan (or Tamlaghtard), par. and ry. sta., N. co. Londonderry, on E, side of Lough Foyle, 9 miles W. of Coleraine, 13,129 ac., pop. 2032; P.O., T.O.; 4 miles NW. of sta. is Magilligan Point, at the entrance of Lough Foyle. The base-line on which the trigonometrical survey of Ireland was made was laid down here in 1826.
