Burford.-- par., township, and town, W. Oxfordshire, 18 miles NW. of Oxford and 76 miles NW. of London -- par., 2939 ac., pop. 1560; township, 750 ac., pop. 1312; P.O., T.O., 1 Bank. Market-day, Saturday; formerly carried on large mfrs. of linen cloths and malt. The town is full of -quaint houses, with panelled gables and tracery work.
