Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for KELDHOLME

KELDHOLME, a hamlet in Kirkby-Moorside township and parish, N. R. Yorkshire; 6½ miles WNW of Pickering. A Cistertian nunnery was founded here, in the time of Henry I., by Robert de Stuteville; and went, at the dissolution, to the Earl of Westmoreland.
