Carsethorn, a coast village of Kirkbean parish, SE Kirkcudbrightshire, to the S of the entrance of Carse Bay, and 1 mile NE of Kirkbean village. A sea-wall 1¼ mile long, and in places 12 feet high, was built (1866-67) for protection of the farm of South Carse from the tide.
