NEWSELLS, a hamlet in Barkway parish, Herts; 3¼ miles S E of Royston. It was known at Domesday as Neusala; was held by Eudo Dapifer; passed to the Scaleses and the Chesters, Lords Selsey; and belongs now chiefly to the Hon. Mrs. V. Harcourt. Pop., 155.
