MOORHOUSE, a township in Burgh-by-Sands parish, Cumberland; near the Carlisle and Silloth railway, 4¾ miles W by N of Carlisle. It contains the village of Thurstonfield, and has a Quaker's chapel. Real property, £1,795. Pop., 306. Houses, 67. Moorhouse Hall is the seat of the Hodgsons.
