Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for Cothal

Cothal, a place with factories of tweed and woollen cloth in Fintray parish, Aberdeenshire, on the left bank of the Don, 7½ miles NNW of Aberdeen, and 2¾ NNW of Dyce Junction. The factories were established in 1798, and are famous for both the quantity and the quality of the tweeds which they turn out.
