A vision of Britain from 1801 to now.
Including maps, statistical trends and historical descriptions.
In 1887, John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles described Regents Park like this:
Regents Park, eccl. dist., St Pancras par., Middlesex, in NW. of London, pop. 10,378; the park is a circular enclosure of 450 ac. It contains the Baptist College; the Zoological Gardens, with the finest collection of wild beasts and birds in the world; and the Botanical Gardens, with a large conservatory, and 18 ac. laid out with a choice collection of trees, shrubs, and flowers.
This is the only descriptive gazetter entry we have found, but you may be able to find further references to Regents Park by doing a full-text search here.
