MAINSBRIDGE, a hundred in Southampton division, Hants; cut into two sections, Lower and Upper. The Lower s. contains Chilworth parish, two other parishes, and part of another. Acres, 18,933. Pop. in 1851,10,754. Houses, 2,126. The Upper s. contains Botley parish, and four other parishes. Acres, 11,782. Pop. in 1851,4,013. Houses, 811.
