In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Eastrip like this:
EASTRIP, an extra-parochial tract in Wincanton district, Somerset; on the river Brue, 2 miles W of Bruton. Acres, 160. Pop., 15. Houses, 3.
The location is approximate, but based on the Victoria County History's map of Bruton Hundred which shows the boundaries of Eastrip (http://www.british-history.ac.uk/report.aspx?compid=18728, accessed 14/1/2011).
