In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Calcot like this:
CALCOTT-PARK, a seat in Berks; on Holybrook, 3 miles WSW of Reading. It belonged to John Kendrick, who bequeathed £7,500 to build the Oracle at Reading; was the scene of the romantic marriage of his descendant, "the Berkshire lady," to Benjamin-Child; and belongs now to Colonel Blagrave.
