Here we are presenting statistics for a historical unit, which may have changed its boundaries significantly during the period covered.

Preferred Name:
STRALACHLAN
Unit Type:
Scottish Parish
Date created:

Date abolished:
1975
Unit ID:
10077436
Authorities:
1951 Census of Scotland, Table 1, 'Comparison of population, density per 100 acres, and houses with 1931', for 'Burghs, Districts of Counties and CPs'.

Notes:

Strachur and Stralachlan were listed simply as separate parishes in the earliest censuses. In 1841 they have separate entries but are described as united. Between 1861 and 1891 they appear as a single entry, but from 1901 onwards they revert to individual listings. They appear separately in all Poor Law listings. Given this complexity, we include no dates for their relationship.
