A vision of Britain from 1801 to now.
Including maps, statistical trends and historical descriptions.
The nineteenth century census combined and confused information on the work an individual did and the nature of their employer's business, in a single set of occupational tables, which we hold elsewhere. However, from 1921 onwards the census reports contain separate industry tables concerned with employer's business. With the exception of 1931, these tabulated people by place of work rather than place of residence.
